To the Editor,

Wings Community Programs wishes to thank all those who made the Chinese Institute Cultural Exchange/Fundraiser such a success. Our greatest appreciation to the many families from throughout the Deerfield Valley who hosted the 30 Chinese teens and gave their visit a very special personal touch. Our guests left with wonderful smiles on their faces but also with tears at the thought of leaving their American families.

Additional thanks to Mount Snow Resort; Ed Metcalf and Southern Vermont Nature Museum; Helena Queenie and Pettee Memorial Library; Doris Horton and Memorial Hall; Ken March and the Wilmington Fire Department; Chief Joe Szarekjo and Wilmington Police Department; Michael and Rachel Perry and the Sitzmark; Jamie Brown and the Wilmington Elementary Recreation Program; our hikers, Jake White and Kathy and Dave Larsen; and Bob Morse, Lonny Paige, and the staff of Twin Valley High School.

We were pleased to have many local teens serve as cultural ambassadors during class time and for afternoon activities. We were proud to have them representing our communities and appreciate their support as well. Thanks again for such good community support.

Patsy Mehlhop, Chinese Institute director, Jacksonville

Jobi Dan’Sy, lead teacher, Marlboro
