WILMINGTON- Shop local in Wilmington village on Saturday, December 8. There’s a lot going on in Wilmington Village starting with the Bright Lights Craft Fair at Memorial Hall from 10 am to 4 pm and then Santa comes to town on a fire truck at 6:30 pm. The craft fair will feature unique handcrafted products and gifts made by area artists and crafters. Some of the items include: hand blown glass ornaments, wreaths, centerpieces, paintings, photographs, candles, trivets, trays, hand knitted hats and mittens, hooked rugs, collectible teddy bears, woodwork, jewelry, pressed flower art, and more.

Then continue shopping in town to take advantage of specials offered to attendees of the craft fair by Apres Vous, Bartleby’s Bookstore, Beyond Imagination, Incurable Romantic, Pickwell’s Barn, Roseate Creations, and the Wilmington Candle Company. Most shops in the village will be staying open a little late (many until about 7 pm) to allow some extra time for shopping local.

Think Santa is just for kids? This will be a festive evening in the village even for those without a list for Santa. Members of the Village Stroll Committee will be selling snacks and hot cocoa in River Bank Park and spreading holiday cheer around the village. Don’t miss the holiday lights and the latest decorating project from the stroll committee: holiday ice balls that look like glass ornaments. Find them around the village. Of course, stop by one of the village’s restaurants for a bite to eat.
