To The Editor,

We wish to thank the enthusiastic audience in attendance for the “High Notes” benefit concert at Memorial Hall on Saturday, July 20.

The concert featured more than 40 singers from the Village Light Opera Group, of New York City.

This was the 18th year that members of VLOG volunteered their time and talents, as well as paid their own expenses to travel to our area to perform. In this 18th appearance, the ticket sales to this concert bring the overall amount raised to almost $83,000 that this group has raised for various causes in our area.

But VLOG is not the only contributor. These singers need to be housed and fed and for that we greatly thank the Big Bear Lodge, the Deerfield Valley Inn, Matterhorn Lodge, Black River Produce, and Wohrle’s Foods. We also thank the North Branch Fire District for contributing their services.

This year the funds will go to MHCA (formerly Memorial Hall Center for the Arts) and also to VLOG’s capital fund.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again next year, we remain most appreciatively yours,

Royal and Ned Wilson
