NELSON, NH- The Monadnock Folklore Society presents the Nelson Second Saturday Contra Dance on October 12, featuring Dave Eisenstadter with Julie Vallimont, Randy Miller, and David Cantieni.

Eisenstadter learned to call contra dances at the Nelson Town Hall and now performs around New England. He is also a journalist who began his career writing for the Peterborough Ledger-Transcript.

Miller, known for his classic music book, The New England Fiddler’s Repertoire, will share his vast knowledge of traditional dance music with pianist Vallimont and Cantieni on saxophone, flute, and clarinet.

Dancing begins at 8 pm, with a short workshop beforehand. Beginners and singles are welcome and all dances are taught throughout the evening. Admission is $8 or $6 for students and seniors.

The dance takes place at the historic town hall. For more information call (603) 762-0235 or visit
