Violette will be doing a glass-blowing demonstration in the Ampitheater Hot Glass Studio at the museum as part of an event called 2300°. Violette will be creating some of her unique sculptures using molten glass, assisted by a team of glass artists from the Corning Museum who will help her create her pieces that evening. Violette’s glass-blowing demonstration will be narrated and live-treamed through the Corning Museum of Glass website at www.cmog.org/programs/live-streaming. All events are live-streamed through the Ustream channel. Some past streams can be seen on the YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/user/corningmuseumofglass.
At 2300° Fahrenheit, hot glass gets interesting and so do things at the Corning Museum of Glass. Enjoy glassmaking demonstrations, live music, and great food and drink. Free and open to the public.
There will also be live music featuring Scythian. Get into the spirit of all things green with this Celtic folk-rock band. Blending traditional Celtic sounds with Eastern European and Appalachian stylings. Scythian will be bringing thunderous energy to the 2300° stage.
Hot foods and cold drinks will round out the night. There will be complimentary hors d’oeuvres and soft drinks will be available. Heartier fare is also available for purchase.
There is a free shuttle bus service from the museum’s I-86 parking lot.
These demonstrations are included in the cost of museum admission (kids and teens 17 and under are free). For more information visit www.cmog.org/event/jen-violette-guest-artist-demo or www.jenviolette.com.
