The Wardsboro Fourth of July Parade is one of the biggest events in Deerfield Valley. Yet every year the Deerfield Valley News pays scant attention. Last year there was a picture of a fire truck (not interesting) when there were a number of creative floats that could have been covered. This year there was no coverage at all.

The Wardsboro parade is a wonderful event and each year more and more people have told me how much they love the parade. Every year for the past six years I have worked very hard on my float, because I feel a duty to the attendees to make the parade a wonderful event. This year, Dover Forge and Mount Snow also presented great homemade floats.

I received my copy of The Messenger in the mail the other day and there were lots of pictures of the floats in other communities. Yet I picked up this week’s Deerfield Valley News anticipating some pictures of floats and there was nothing.

Shame on you.
