W&B Management has purchased the local property management contracts of TPW Management. That’s a big growth element for the Dover-based W&B, as the business just about doubled overnight. W&B owner Rich Werner said the move happened because TPW’s principal owner, Paul T. Carroccio, wanted to consolidate the company closer to their Bondville base.
“Paul wanted to concentrate around Manchester,” said Werner. “We’d done some work together, so it made sense for us to take this on.”
Werner said all of TPW’s staff from the Dover office has stayed on with W&B. The office has moved from the south end of the parking lot to the north end, from the former North Real Estate building to the former Mountain Insurance space next to Green Mountain Interiors.
Homeowners in a number of local developments will notice the bright red trucks of W&B around their communities. Those developments include Snow Mountain Farms in Wardsboro; Bears Crossing, SnowTree, Sawmill Village, HandleWoods, Mountaineer Condominiums, and Deer Creek in Dover; and Chamonix Village at the Hermitage Club in Wilmington.
“We acquired all of TPW’s accounts south of Stratton Mountain,” said Werner. “It’s been really good so far. We’ve doubled our staff and added some great new benefits for all of our employees including health insurance.”
One more thing W&B has ported over from TPW is the company’s computerized management system.
“The challenge has been more on the management side,” said Werner. “We’ve undergone a technology integration. We’re still switching things over. We’ve adopted their work order system and integrated it into Quickbooks. It makes the office more efficient.”
For his part, Werner is excited about the expansion of the company and the opportunities that lie ahead, particularly on the property management as opposed to the maintenance side of the business.
“It’s a whole new direction for us.”
