WHITINGHAM- Listers Clyde Twitchell, Judy Carrier, and Jen Burnell appeared before the Whitingham Selectboard on December 12 to discuss errors and omissions in the grand list. Selectboard member Alan Twitchell jokingly said he could not believe there were errors and omissions in the work of the listers. The listers presented nine changes, some related to changes of business forms, a property that was taxed and was non-taxable, a veteran exemption on a property tax that was submitted late, and a case of two properties merged into one. The selectboard approved the errors and omissions report submitted by the listers. The selectboard then met with the listers in executive session.

Town administrator Bonnie Jo Radasch said the first check had been received for the lease of the land for the cell tower, as well as copies of the signed contract. Karl Twitchell advised the board that he had heard that some companies lease land to prevent other companies from using the property. Alan Twitchell and Keith Bronson remarked that they had received many inquiries from town residents as to when the cell tower would be operational. They have heard no negative comments.

Radasch said that more folding chairs were needed for the municipal center. She said road commissioner Stanley Janovsky had noted that in the past chairs have been borrowed from the municipal center and never returned. Alan Twitchell suggested nonfolding chairs that could be stacked on a dolly for transport and storage. These chairs would also have cushions and a weight capacity of 300 pounds. Radasch informed the board that about 25% of the 150 chairs in the municipal center need replacement. Radasch suggested buying 35 new chairs this year and 35 new chairs next year. She said there is $3,000 available in the budget for the purchase of the chairs. The board decided to do more research in order to get the best price for the type of chair Alan Twitchell suggested. Alan Twitchell made a motion to purchase $2,500 of the stackable chairs at the best price available. The board approved the motion.

Under other business the board discussed their reimbursement policy under the budget. Radasch said the auditor felt their current policy was effective.

Radasch said that the planning commission clerk was due for a pay increase. The board approved the increase.

Radasch also discussed the town report with the board.
