After the dramatic readings, audience members are encouraged to share their stories. The facilitators will lead a discussion connecting everyone's experiences to Dr. King's Poor People's Campaign, the teacher's strikes in Oklahoma and West Virginia, gun violence, and other struggles. This event will be part of a string of events that will lead up to Diversity Day at Brattleboro Union High School.

Diversity Day is an eleven year old event at Brattleboro Union High School that allows teachers and students to engage in meaningful learning around topics related to curricula and becoming lifelong learners. Topics have included food security, biodiversity and diversity, Malian cooking, Media & diversity, the power of perspective, and the road to marriage equality.
