Visit Readsboro Glassworks during Vermont Open Studio Weekend.
Mary Angus and Bill LeQuier of Readsboro Glassworks will be participating in the 25th annual Vermont Craft Council’s Spring Open Studio Weekend, a statewide celebration of the visual arts, on Saturday, May 27 and Sunday, May 28 from 10am to 5pm. The public is invited to stop in to see their latest work and watch one of the glassblowing demonstrations ongoing throughout the weekend.
Working together in the glassblowing studio they built in a one hundred year old mill building in the village center, both artists create their own distinctive work. LeQuier's complex glass sculptures are both powerful and fluid, capturing the harmonious and erratic forces found in nature, while Angus creates exquisite blown glass vessels with graceful forms and soft colors.
Mary and Bill join five other local artists from Wilmington and Whitingham in welcoming visitors to their studios for this annual statewide event. In all, 181 studios are open throughout Vermont during the statewide self-guided tour. Look for the bright yellow signs directing visitors to each studio.
The Vermont Crafts Council publishes a free map booklet with directions to participating studios atwww.vermontcrafts.com. The Vermont Open Studio Guide is also available locally at the Southern Vermont Deerfield Valley Chamber of Commerce.
