Clean up on Green Up

Green Up Day in Jacksonville and Whitingham

WHITINGHAM- Spring has arrived and with it, Vermont’s annual Green Up Day. The first Saturday in May many towns throughout Vermont will receive a spring cleaning. Jacksonville and Whitingham volunteers should meet at the Town Hill playground Saturday, May 5,  at 9 am, to select an area to green up.
This community event is a great family activity.  It not only introduces neighbors and townspeople but also teaches children to take pride in their town. Kickoff begins with doughnuts and coffee. After the hard work of greening up, volunteers will enjoy a barbecue lunch provided by the Lions Club. Garbage bags will be provided. Volunteers should dress in work clothes and bring gloves. Call Aysha or Todd at (802) 368-2807 for more information or to suggest areas in need of greening up.
